Robinson Crusoe
Daniel Defoe spins a tale of a castaway figuring out how to survive and thrive on his own.
Itās a classic adventure story: shipwreck, capture, escape from slavery, another shipwreck, pve fight for survival, pvp fight for survival, homeward odyssey.

I read this with my then 5yo and he loved it. He still requests barley soup from time to time and we talk about the book often. I would have enjoyed it even on my own. Itās surprisingly fun to track his survival efforts.
The one demerit for me was the presence of a handful of longish religious reflections, but even those served to help develop his character.
Itās a great book for reading aloud to kids, but Iād even timidly recommend it for adults. Just donāt go in expecting modern pacing, and youāll have a good time. 3 replies
