Before DEI initiatives, my spouse and I secured tech roles based on our skills and track record. Post-DEI, layoffs hit, and offshore workers filled our spots. The changes seemed more harmful than helpful. We often felt like tokens, being asked about MLK’s significance or to join POC photo ops.
