i noticed that ever since my groupchat push notifications started saying "30+ new messages in XYZ groupchat," i stopped clicking through to check the groupchat due to (i think) the mental barrier to reasonably catch up on everything. just me?

Nope! I’m the same. That’s why I turn off all notifs and badges on apps. It also means I don’t get distracted and open them when I need to.
