Because fb apps are complements and if you're growing way too much, they undercut you. Microsoft did the same for Windows. Remember Windows Media Player?

You right @yangwao, the interesting thing is that back than "social OS" was the thing. Unsurprisingly it went south with FB, but Farcaster seem like a good base where social OS can be build. What do you think?
