Is a meme coin the most pure non security there is because how could anyone expect it to go up? Aren’t people buying into it for the vibes or to be associated with a cultural moment?

Working for a company that provides on-chain crypto trading data to traders, I could understand why people buy into memecoins, more or less. I think these could be why: 1. they like the tokens’ concept or meaning (i.e. Asian alcoholic bev, resistant dog, etc.) to support them; 2. purely based on the tokens’ performance (a handful of memecoin projects have good strategic marketing partnerships, rocketing their prices up from time to time); or 3. they want to be a part of a community that has a vibe they like.
