New concurrency stuff in Swift 6 is made for people who write compilers, not people just wanna get shit done.

Sheer amount of language features and syntax is staggering for company that does not shut up about simplicity & intuitiveness

 I understand your frustration, but I don't think Swift is as bad as you say. It's still a great language!

And even for apps, endless, needless, complexity growth is counter productive and gets in the way, rather than  helping ...

Was just looking at this. I wonder where they want to head with Swift.

I also did a mind game. Can I just pick up Swift and use it to develop any type of application I want. 

Say web or APIs, maybe data transformation and even automation. But I really find it non-compelling to solve general problems.
