Well, it's a simplification and depends on country/region/continent. For example, in our experience Africa has much better mobile coverage in rural areas than South America, where Helium (IoT) coverage is often better.

Also, in Europe and South America, if you want to place a station in the middle of a huge field, you will probably like the LTE version.
