Death penalty faces girl suspected of murdering baby — Daily Mail

29-year-old graduate student Nicole Virzi was shocked when she learned that the prosecutor's office is seeking the death penalty for her. This was stated by the girl's attorney David Schrager.

Virzi is accused of killing her friends' six-week-old baby. Prosecutors say the suspect fractured little Leon's skull and then brutally beat him. Ari's twin brother was also "tortured," law enforcement officials say, but survived.

Despite the shock of her possible fate, Virzi will seek a more just resolution for herself, her lawyer said. The girl will try to tell "her truth" at the court hearing, where her parents will attend - they will support their daughter.

The motive behind the alleged crime is still unclear. Virzi herself claims that Leon fell out of the playpen while she was shopping for a bottle of milk.
