There are so many things but I think it can be summarized on not liking that a non Mexican is telling a story about something delicate and painful happening in Mexico with actors that aren’t even Mexican. 

I do think that the director should have done more research but consider a bit of moral bending the argument about the “painful topic and enaltecimiento de la cultura del narco” since that has been happening forever and nobody says anything if a Mexican does it.
