I agree, the difference to the DSD edition is incredible, the hi-res pcm sounds flat and 2D compared to the DSD.

FLAC is the best encoding format ever, for sure! Unless you use ALAC? 😅 What sound system are you using? Do you sometimes use headphones as well with amplifier preset?

Better Wav but I've lot of FLACs just because the metadata is more widely supported. Finally the app I use on mobile, has better metadata support for Wav files so I started to use it. I use Flac, DSD (dsf), some Alac, WavePack, Wav. On desk I use DAC + headphone amplifier with music on RAID system. Bit perfect no EQ

On mobile currently I use professional in-ear monitors and portable DAC/amp connected to my phone. Soon DAP and custom in-ear monitors
