usually not fully bearish on any tech but I really do not think calorie counting using purely vision is ever going to work. way too much variance in preparation methods that afaik cannot be picked up visually. 200-300 cal. margin of error is the difference between maintenance and gaining 1lb/week

intuitive eating doesn't work for the majority of the population using computer vision for calorie counting has been the nuclear fusion or room temperature superconductors of dieting but the issue is that a tablespoon of butter or oil is like a gazillion of calories and virtually invisible
