do keto people just ignore okinawa where people's diet is 60% sweet potato and average life expectancy for men 80+ years, women 87+ years, and that has one of the highest number of people 100yo+? i just can't follow the logic of keto people if carbs are so bad why do these people live so long?

It may have more to do with avoiding processed and ultra processed carbs tho. If you avoid those (as keto people do, and maybe okinawa people?), then the carbs that you do intake from fresh veg and fruit etc are likely okay / good for you.

I'm suggesting that keto (/low carb diets) is actually more about avoiding processed and ultra processed carbs - pasta, breads etc. Which have low nutritional value and also cause glucose spiking.
