if you like rick rubin's book, it explains why your art sucks and why it is still not popular

you pick false idols that have no idea of survivorship bias and follow the cargo cult

the only thing that works is persistence, proximity and luck

what people do and what people say they do and what people say you must do are three entirely different things

one can be successful but still teach garbage

i don’t idolize rubin but..

a book is not meant to give you the solution but the path

luck is nothing without discipline and is meant to be attracted

No complaints here. I like Rubin as a thinker and his work with Beastie Boys and Jay-Z, but his book only applies to his own experience and the providence of his circumstances. 

But yeah, someone could replicate my life and thinking exactly and never reproduce my outcomes.
