tell me you don't understand how social networks work without telling me you don't understand how social networks work i also *wish* socials worked differently, but there's that hard fact that is reality when you get >.5m people in the same "room" you get social dynamics that are sub-optimal, this is how humans work

agreed. skews too far to idealistic. decentralization has its merits but it canβt change human nature. there will be the enlightened vs degenerate, kind vs mean, benevolent vs greedy. decentralization doesnβt change nature itself. whop, a web2 startup that does all that was mentioned much better than any decentralized media without any decentralization

what people don't understand is that decentralization (and anonymisation) bring out the worst from a small percentage of people that eventually get amplified by communal public psyche still, we *do* need decentralization and privacy, yet we *have* to sacrifice this idealism due to the inevitability of bad apples
