Pretty promising! Love that it's EVM compatible. Bit hard to truly judge it on testnet, especially since it's getting absolutely clobbered from the amount of traffic. But the fact that the testnet has handled this much so far is impressive

Mostly speed and decentralization! It has some special sauce to make that happen. Performs like an L2 but is actually an L1

There are pros and cons. L2s generally don’t have as much security and in some cases decentralization since they have to batch transactions to Eth Mainnet, so having a dedicated L1 can be more secure. The downsides of alternative L1s like Monads is you miss out on things like bridges that would otherwise work on L2s. It also usually means a different standard for writing contracts but that is the nice thing with Monad, it keeps the same EVM standards
