I have notifications turned on for a small subset of people and they get organized in a way like you're describing

not the same as channels of course, but it does help with keeping up with important topics

I cant do this app on my phone like that, trying to reduce time on the phone and just looking for ways to organize all this.  scrolling the channels is a nightmare right now and I dont want to unfollow them to reduce the list.
