I think the problem is that crypto in general favours mass speculation, which is what draws the new users, but this just leads to hype cycles and not long-term sustainability

If we're serious about building proper economies, there needs to be a way to favour value & authenticity, genuine effort, over rampant speculation. Leave that for the casino side of things.

But the brands and companies that bring in the liquidity, don't care about depth, they're interested in garnering additional attention for their brands, which favours the speculation side of things.

What do you value? 

Social media lends itself to a destruction of originality.

We rely on algorithms to surface “value”, which leads to the same patterns being boosted. 

Everyone watches this happen as people go viral, and the FOMO mimicry commences. 

We lose original thinking as we get slotted into reality tunnels of hype.
