The reason I believe the idea of turning art into coins is flawed is that newcomers to the space, those who don’t understand why this transition was made, will start seeing art not as art, but as a token
Instead of collecting a piece of art, they will “buy, swap, or trade” it, and the environment surrounding the artwork will now include a price, market cap, token holders, charts, and everything else that comes with financial assets
Where do you think people’s attention will go?
I’m not saying art as coins should disappear or that we shouldn’t experiment until we find something that benefits everyone
