a convenient accident, mostly. jacek made the new channel (because ofc, if only for the brand). that same day, farcaster made changes to channels, including radical changes to hosting and moderation.

degen channel defaulted to 0xen, freeing me from hosting.

degentokenbase is actively moderated and has posting controls. i assume /degen is just using some simple moderation rules, otherwise abandoned.

nah, not sad. just different; it's okay for degen to junky. it's an old, big channel with no real focus.

bots can't spam in degentokenbase because it's token gated and bots are poor.

we'll be doing this for a long while. my hope is we try everything awesome at some point.

I hope staking unlocks people's creativity to some cool features here, not just for this channel but for others too. Gated things for staking, beyond just allowances, would be exciting.
