I wish all channels were easy to understand. I avoid posting on the degen channel. Unfortunately, some degens are very averse to artists. I was asked to stop posting there a while back 😂

earlier in the year, /degen had a lot of off-topic shilling from artists and artist types. that's an odd fit for a channel about reckless shitcoinery lol

Artists were tipping degen, and there was no proper channel to tip on art. It was probably not the right place, but there was also no "correct" place. Some people here appreciate the artists, but it is not the vast majority. I joined W in May 2023 - low FID - but I didn't feel comfortable posting until frames came in.

There were not many art channels yet 😂 and it was when people started creating them. We would mint on Base but were not allowed to share in that channel. Some artists started creating themed art channels around that time. Marketplaces didn't even have channels yet. It all moved very fast.
