1. Last week, we previewed the upcoming channel changes

2. We want to ensure that existing channels have a set of members on Day 1

3. We’re proposing automatically converting active followers → members for channels.

4. We’re optimizing for something straightforward and pragmatic, not perfect.

5. We’re looking for feedback on this proposal.

>dan is asking for feedback but this sounds workable to me.

I’m super interested to see how this impacts bot activity, if at all, and if we’ll see a drop in total daily casts as a result of the changes.

likely, yep. and people who think totals matter will be mislead, as usual.

There’s been debate about this lately. Some people just like to see big numbers, even if it’s all bot noise, or feel that it’s necessary for outsiders to feel like FC is worth their time. Personally, I’d rather have half the activity if I knew it was from humans.
