It reminds me of one of my uncles. When my first child was born, he arrived first and counted my son's fingers. He said, 'It's good, he has 10 fingers, everything is fine.' At first, I thought he was joking, but he said it with a very serious tone, so I politely agreed

He was my wife's uncle, so I didn't dare say anything. I think it was something his father used to do, and he repeats this ritual at every birth. If it had been one of my uncles, I would have said to him, 'Do you really think we wouldn't have noticed it before!!! How is politeness on your family ?
