Degenovation led the way in the ecosystem, and now the community is evolving to create a sustainable long term strategy. Copycats will fill the void, but will have to face the same challenges that caused the $DEGEN pivot.

most will have nothing to pivot towards. treat tipping tokens like any other mayfly shitcoin.

Agreed. The ecosystem Degen has built, with it's L3 and early investments, is a massive first mover advantage. Filling the void for tipping demand is an insatiable beast that could create tremendous downward pressure on all who try to fill it.

each one is a matchstick holding up farcaster's tipping culture. the sooner they collapse, the sooner we can evolve towards something better.

only because the old world is wretched. i'm not an anarchist; i want full-tilt regenerative economics at the social-network level. and we can't get that without education and a fuck load of real, honest to goodness work.

I'm being dramatic, of course... but I do think parallel systems that embrace better values and outperform traditional ones can and will win. That's why I'm here. I hold up degen as an exemplar and I'm glad to be building alongside it.

likewise. i assume it's a war-of-attrition, too. our systems will win simply because they /last/ whereas web2 alternatives are necessarily more brittle. they're centralized but we can't scale eventually tho, we will 🎩
