The token price itself? That happens for a few reasons, the launch quantity being chief among them. >when fan token auctions launch, they default to 10% of that entities' follower count >Dan has a lot more followers >and so he has a lot more fan tokens >and so the fan tokens are a lot cheaper than, say, wake

ahh that makes sense, thank you. I set mine to 1000 to start (a nod to 1000 true fans) so we'll see how it goes! 10% would only be about 620 so I guess I overshot the default a little it ends in 30 min though so we'll see what happens!

yeah! there's a max cap of 40,000, which is the default as far as I'm aware. but when you go to start it, there's an option to change the auction supply. I figured lowering it would make it a bit scarcer and perhaps bump the initial price up before it goes to normal market as the auction continues, you get a running total of the remaining supply: i can see that 888 have been bid for so far

i laboured over it for about 20 days 😆 and then i said fck it, i'm overthinking this, i'll just launch it and then see how I can make it work, 1000 felt nice lol i'll be increasing the split to hopefully get a solid burn going too, still trying to think on what makes sense for my split to maximize token value while also giving me some bill-covering earnings haha

that makes sense. your split needn't be a deep cut, especially if your moxie earnings help to sustain your craft... which is a significant part of your perceived value. just the fact that you're thinking about it tells me your fan token is a worthy buy 🌹

thank you for saying that! I appreciate it a lot 😊 Exactly, I know my value comes from being able to spend time writing & creating art. These types of tokens (along with degen) help sustain the craft for sure. Relieving financial pressure opens up creativity a ton. I was originally going to do 35%, but I found out the minimum split change atm is 50% (though custom splits are coming soon) so I need to think a bit more on it

Yep. And you can change it any time. If you have a good relationship with your fans and they bought for the right reasons, later changes to your split will be well received, no matter the direction. 1000 $DEGEN 🫡

thank you! 🫡 yes, that's a good point, that's kind of my thought too. Really, anything over 20% for any period of time should continue increasing the token value, so I'm hoping people are okay with me mixing it up depending on what makes it sustainable for me ✨ my hypersub/podcast/newsletter and /cal channel are all based on the concept of "Recalibrating", which I hope leads my audience/fans to understand that everything is in perpetual iteration mode haha
