1/2 All of the activity on the Farcaster social graph is 100% permissionless and increasingly useful for use cases like sybil resistance and reputation. Many bi-directional social interactions between people over a long period of time is hard to fake.

> Many bi-directional social interactions between people over a long period of time is hard to fake this is such a good point. much more can (and should) be built on top of this

idk Some are hard to fake, no doubt. Some are easy. I used to think a person's online activity could be like a fingerprint, but modern AI has me doubting this. What interactions are hard to fake?

its true, interactions between bots might be indiscernible from interactions between humans. but the two cohorts rarely intersect. so when you see an account of unknown origin interact with an account of known origin over a long period of time, you can have high confidence its not a bot, and thus probably human. right?

Aren't all origins, wrt online accounts, the same? An agent of some kind created the account at some point, then used it somehow. Not being intensionally obtuse, btw. Realizing that we don't need both sides of the definition, what characterizes a "good" or "trustworthy" origin?

that's another layer of judgement on top, which is informed by the onchain record. case in point: @warpcastadmin.eth 's interactions are proof of ... trustlessness? my pov: your onchain activity is Proof of Being Awake / A Wake

So how do we get from proof-of-wake to proof-of-wake-is-human?

for what purpose? if for my online amusement, then everyone updates proof with each interaction (accounts can get sold, spoofed, ppl get brain damage, etc.). if resource-constrained project looking to airdrop effectively, I suggest proof-of-degen is more useful than proof-of-humanity. if UBI, idk leave to gigabrains

OP claimed account event bi-directionality is high-confidence hard-to-fake stuff and we should build on top of it. I was suspicious and still am. I hate digging up foundations once they've settled, even in the metaverse. Aren't all degens human?

Hmm. I am also suspicious, suspect it's a "too-early optimization" based on fragile initial conditions. also agreed, imajin digging up bitcoin foundations all the time, because they were built as SV-style startups by doing things that don't scale. And agreed, using bots is an expression of humanity (currently)
