Is the team really considering taking away the tips from people that staked nearly 10k dollars to get a max allocation? Made it pay to play Removed all rules about tipping from the faq before staking went live Now saying rules were never removed they were just taken off the website How does this make any sense? How does this not end in a lawsuit? Obviously what these people did is not the idea behind the degen coin, community or movement that we have all been a part of…. but degens will be degens and not expecting that is not knowing your own community. Help me make sense of this.

sorry for not emailing you the rules before they changed the website. sorry you think that's the degen bible and not just a FAQ. sorry you're upset about the tipping game. can't help it make sense for you unless you open up your position. that said, the urgency and intensity is weird. asking honestly: you're alright, yeah? like for real?

there are no rules. you guys made an effort to remove them. I am fine I just dont understand why everyone thinks all the old rules are still valid. Its like thinking the rules from season two (engagement farming) still apply to get you a bigger degen allo.

ah. you're confusing code for social layer. project goals /have/ evolved since season 1 but the general aim hasn't changed. nah, sorry, picking on the website is cherry picking a fact to support your conclusion. you don't like staking, that's fine. you aren't comfortable doing good in ambiguous circumstances and want clear instruction, I get that. You don't like that people gamble with locking money, also fine. There's a lot you don't like but very little of it has to do with how /you/ use your tips. You seem more upset with what everyone else is doing, which is why I asked about your situation. You just sound worried, is all.

I am fine with staking, (I am not going to do it) but I am fine if other people do it. I am not fine with handing over the whole ecosystem to people who have the most money and flushing the community down the drain. Where do you draw the line in taking away tips? you guys took away 600+K in tips from me in season two for no reason then added them back after the claim so i cant claim them (the website says i have 600k more than i was ever able to claim). I cant even tell you the level of suck that was but I am still here and i dont want that to happen to anyone else. you can look at my tipping record, i had a huge allocation last season and tipped out 50%+ more than i got back, I tipped tons of different people and also tipped quite a lot to people I think have made farcaster what it is today. I also know how much it sucks to have an allocation of 5 degen (i was there on season 4).

"handing over the whole ecosystem to people who..." -- sorry, don't get down with that one. that's... wow. Now we're getting to the core grievance. You're not going to like this, but here it is: you didn't lose anything. you never had it. degen points aren't real. If that makes tipping less attractive on the receiving side, good. That said, it's likely you were tipped from users who were invalidated for farming. That's pretty much all it ever is. But that's not new or uncommon or something hidden from our brief project history. My guidance since season two: don't count your chickens until claim day. Focus on how /your/ tips are received, attend less to /your/ earnings. But that's nearly impossible for people who are financially motivated and working to earn, so I'm sympathetic. This isn't so much an ethical rule with a moral center; moreso a consequence of how the system is structured. Happy to break it down for you, but I think you already know the details.
