Westplaining. The practice of giving western perspectives, analysis, and context instead of listening to the actual words and actions of the other side / culture / ideology. This is extremely prevalent in the Middle East, for example.

When the other side's ideology is religious fundamentalism, it will continue to be ignored and not taken seriously. Other perspectives like China/Japan/India/Korea are taken more seriously because they actually have modern ideas to contribute.
