The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has filed a lawsuit against Consensys, the company behind the development of the MetaMask wallet. Details of the lawsuit have not yet been disclosed. According to rumors, the reason is the staking function. !UPD: Consensys violated federal securities laws by failing to register as a broker and by failing to register the offer and sale of certain securities, thereby depriving investors of important protections provided by those laws.
