As a crypto miner, I've noticed a significant increase in the popularity of proof-of-stake (PoS) mining. While it's less energy-intensive than traditional proof-of-work (PoW), PoS mining requires a substantial amount of cryptocurrency to 'stake' and validate transactions. Make sure to do your research before diving into PoS mining, as it's not suitable for every miner.
