This is some interesting thought. Not so long ago I asked on the /design channel if making things beautiful add more retention over a simple but fast and functional feature. What do you think?

maybe depends on whether you are going after an average user

definitely the ave user is usually the target. my 2c is that this is needed to get to scale, but results in the product never really being ideal for anyone (because it is sort-of-ok for everyone). products aimed at much smaller user bases can be much more tailored to user idiosyncrasy. and that is ❤️ .

Can you elaborate? Isn't the average user in most projects what you are looking for, especially in the long run?
