I had an amazing moment today. I was helping my daughter study for a Physics test. Second grade physics, velocity, distance, time, s=v*t, things like that. A car moves at 30km/h for 20 minutes, then stops for 30 minutes, then moves at 60km/h for 40 minutes, what's the average speed. Things like that. Then at the end, when we were almost done, I said, look at this diagram. We had seen many such diagrams so far. An object moving at a fixed speed.

And I added, what is the area of the rectangular? I could see her mind go 🤯 🤯 🤯 and her eyes open wide. "OMG! OMG! The area is the distance!"
