The ondevice zk module from @faust expanded to all devices on @weatherxm (cc @vrypan.eth ) to generate proof of untampered data including calibration, streamed to Blocksense network (zk oracle built by @zahary.eth ) and fed to products like Skysight (built by Matthew Scutter) is a match made in heaven 🤯 Wdyt?

In down! And in the long run one of the use cases we’ve imagined Roc has being a tool that could notarize sensor data for DePIN projects

Hey guys! WeatherXM stations are already equipped with a secure element that provides signatures for the data packets transmitted from each station. Isn't this enough?

That’s cool, does the secure element just sign the data or does it also include metadata about the calibration of the device? In my chat with Matthew Scutter (founder of Skysight, a popular aviation forecast tool) he said the main issue in home stations is ‘Quality control of observations is a very, very hard problem and it's hard enough with real certified stations, let alone random stations’. This is why we thought the attestation of metadata could help and be streamed through Blocksense.

No, there is no calibration data. Trust is always a big problem, especially in a decentralized network of devices. Who installed it, who verified the installation, etc. That said... We are doing some interesting stuff to evaluate the quality of the data. Check out this post for example. Is it possible to make an intro to Mattew Scutter? https://blog.weatherxm.com/trust-assurances-from-the-sun-d288091a29c3

Sure happy to connect. His advice was to speak with https://nationalmesonet.us/ ie NOAA or ECMWF who have advanced QC systems already and do purchase from other mesh consumer systems.
