Having the same calendar worldwide is a good thing But the calendar that was picked (Gregorian) is completely arbitrary There are much better options like the “International Fixed Calendar” which has 28 days per month and 13 months per year https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Fixed_Calendar

It depends on how you define the purpose of a calendar Ideally a standard should be as generic as possible to serve as many purposes as possible Even if Gregorian isn’t arbitrary… it’s biased towards a specific purpose
