Attention is upstream of infrastructure. Own the app layer. Would not be surprised to see app layer acquisitions from Anthropic (Browser Company since Mike K is on the board and CPO at Anthropic) and OpenAI. Cursor <> OpenAI? Or maybe access to frontier models is sufficient to drive installs of homegrown products.

This is why ChatGPT.com, the domain, is extremely valuable. OpenAI has managed to own users directly, not get access to them through some third party app.
