186 new Farcaster channels created in less than 24 hours since going permissionless.

Idea:
Channels to be defined by a subdomains of *.farcaster-channels.eth. A custom domain manager contract allows anyone to mint a domain like this by paying the yearly fee. Subdomain records (address, avatar, URL, description) can be set by the owner and apps can use them to present a channel details.

Subdomain changes and status (new owner, record updates, payment status) can be imported to hubs as OnChainEvents.

It is already compatible with FIP-2, requires no protocol changes, it's flexible and relatively un-opinionated. It also comes with some advantages such as easy ownership transfers. An even more "advanced" domain manager could allow FIDs to sign changes and transactions to be sent by a "gas station" paid in warps.
