My daughter (12yrs) asked for a "GoPro camera". She's into sports, especially swimming and diving. Cost is obviously a factor, and I don't want her to get the coolest and most expensive thing there is out there. What's your suggestion? Any good alternatives? Pros and cons?

What level of diving? Open water or Advanced?

There are other less expensive camera’s that look like a go pro. I would start with one of those $50 max and then when they get more serious then move to better quality. One of the things you have to do is learn how to use it to get it to be stable. Open water is not supposed to be messing around too much…
