Everything is much simpler, but also more complicated. It depends on how deep you dig.

There is just the fact of a decision, and that decision was predetermined, just like any other decision you make. 

Those who bought it had the necessary neural connections, psychoemotional state, material circumstances and environment. 

All this affects the learning of the neural network inside the brain and its solutions. No choice to buy or not to buy is consciously accepted. There is not even someone who could make this choice. At the moment, this is a scientific fact, proven by many experiments. Philosophers and moralists can argue, but is philosophy really a science?

You can learn from any situation and model your behavior in a similar situation in the future, but this does not mean that you will act differently when Trump launches the next billboard.
