2010-today: dynamic became more interactive via social media, but v top-down
 
crypto-enabled future: dynamic expands to be bottom-up, more reciprocal + participatory w/ crypto tools

the next class of creators will prioritise owning their social graphs and nurturing communities that help capture the value that previously went to the platforms

the big unlock is that the value can also be distributed to the participants in the network

Yes, today’s social media is very “top-down” because there is not much a creator can do besides liking/replying to comments. 

No way to distribute the value, most of which accrues to the platform anyway.
