It is not a book š«£, but (at least) a website about books and magazines. https://designreviewed.com/ Design Reviewed is a personal project of Matt Lamont, dedicated to digitally preserving graphic design history and documenting the vast visual culture from the last century. His collection might be unrivaled anywhere in the world.

You can find an incredible amount of in-depth information on the website: articles, archives, design history and many more. You can become a member and unlock members-only content or support his efforts with a donation. Matt also sells duplicate copies of rare books and magazines. Important to note it's all non-profit. Everything is re-invested into further extending the archive. Impressive work. For the culture.
