These are pit wall supports, they will be removed in the end.

They are building a physics lab, the basement structure will be completely separated from the ground and surroundings with dampers to minimize vibrations to sensitive measuring equipment inside.

Just visiting, but the site is just across the school where our design studio takes place (ETH Zürich). I trust the Swiss engineers for these supports to hold, otherwise we could slip into the gorge 😅
