I think I almost got scammed.

I was approached here about working on a Web3 game. After a shallow "interview" over Discord, I was asked to install their existing client program.

I'm a software engineer in Northern California. My main strengths are C++ and Python.

I tried installing it in a VM and a secondary machine, and both times it failed with the same cryptic error. When I followed up, I was encouraged to try it on my main machine. When I declined, my recruiter went silent.

I now strongly suspect that the "game client" is a wallet drainer.
