Hot take I can’t be bothered with all the “tipping” options in this space. I’m an artist I list my art if you like it buy it. There is no extra bonuses or anything it’s just support for an artist. You do you. I think we as a community got so sidetracked with degen, ham, further and whatever coin ya’ll tipping that we forgot to see the real reason we’re here. I don’t care about it.

Sorry dear but it's all meant to be fun. You're not supposed to be bothered about it, some of us just like the gamification aspect to some of tokens. You can go the route of art account, post art, post links to your shop etc but you're interracting mostly with other creators who are not necessarily with the funds to buy art so the tip is their way of appreciation. Plus tipping artists' content with tokens is nothing new in a art community. It was on twitter a few years back, it's on discord, twitch and a host of other art communities. But it's okay if you don't like it. At least now the rest of us know😃

Been around the block trust me I know I just find it extremely overwhelming and artists just cut themselves short. It’s become a circus more than anything and I think it’s stupid.

We already list our art for crypto why get tipped in some alt coin that essentially is worth nothing? We already under cut our prices a lot of the time to make sales. I think a lot of us have just become so infatuated with these gimmicks that we lose a part of who we are and we become ringmasters in the circus. We’re artists and all artists really care about is making art.

When I got into cryptoart in 2019, we were all making $3..$7 sales on Eth at a time when artists selling art for crypto only accepted bitcoin because eth was going to crash. Like most of my peers, I created a fan token on Ethereum that can be earned or tipped and then redeemed for art or a commission. Those were the days gas prices was like 10cents. So it's not surprising that the moment there's a platform to support seamless exchange- Farcaster- and a low gas chain - Base- there would be a plethora of token based communities. Same as on Steemit and Hive where art communities strive, there's loads of community tokens. The speculative and coin collector nature of the crypto community would always find it's way into any onchain art community. I was only holding bitcoin majorly until cryptoart and then I found myself with Eth, Eos, Wave, BNB.... Yes, artists want to create art but you don't have to only want to create art. Some want to engage in a way that's not a mirror of their 3- 6 other art accounts.
