This is quite arguable imho. Science does change, and significantly too over time. Mathematics is fundamental. I remember my Advanced Algorithms professor many moons ago made this point: Computer Science is art because it requires creativity. I agree with him.

Good point. My simplification is based on the idea that "being able to learn from textbooks from the 70s and 80s" is almost exactly "doesn't change" for the modern world of computers and the speed of development :)

That's true. Some stuff didn't change and some lessons are evergreen. Much evolved. At the same time, I hope you're not learning how to code in COBOL right now 😅
