Meme culture is a topic many folks here on FC could write a ton about. I'll share some of mine: art through history has often found itself propagate through mimesis, through mimicry. Art and expression often contain some idea, and in that idea I found myself thinking about it through lens of representation reality

I think mimesis - the representation of how we interpret reality underpins how memes them selves work. Memes are vehicles to carry the most number of interpretable representation of reality (that we want to share), while still having one form factor, or one shape, or one image etc

As the means of communication improves, the bandwidth for how much information we can share improves, and the feedback loop from creator to consumer to creator shortens -- we're devolving faster and faster into sharing memes because it is the easiest way to spread the mimesis - spread shared realities between ourselves
