Olena Ivanіvna Stepaniv (known as Olena Stepanivna) - born on December 7, 1892 in a village in Lviv region - she is known as a historian, geography teacher, public and military figure; the first woman in the world officially enrolled in military service with the rank of officer. Today, in her honor, there is a gymnasium named after Olena Stepaniv in Lviv, which is located on Olena Stepanivna Street 🥰

I had never heard of it either. But when my daughter went to study at this gymnasium, I became very curious, so I opened Google and learned about this historical figure 🤗
