@stevebeachy Steve, while everyone is laughing at this, what if the introduction of tariffs on the uninhabited Heard and McDonald's islands is actually a strategic move by the United States? While Russia and China are developing the Northern Sea Route, the United States is indicating its presence in the southern latitudes? Antarctica is a potentially resource-rich region, and although their extraction is prohibited by international treaties, no one is ruling out a revision of the rules. Tariffs are a symbolic gesture, a hint that the United States also has interests in southern waters. While competitors are strengthening their positions in the Arctic, the United States is paving its way to Antarctica? π€
