The claims in "official" star wars canon (aka propaganda) is that actually evil characters like palpatine were pulling the strings. But this is biased and often malicious exaggeration, not fundamentally different from how various movements and countries on earth often get branded as "neo-nazis", "CIA conspiracy", etc

Former Star Wars employee here, the simple answer is that Disney changed the cannon after they bought it. The original canon didn’t have such a simplified explanation. In the pre-Disney canon, the motivations of the Separatist movement were explored more deeply, often highlighting corruption within the Galactic Republic, corporate greed, and genuine ideological differences among systems desiring autonomy. Many systems were portrayed as legitimately believing the Republic was irreparably flawed and sought independence in good faith.

The Seperatists blockaded and invaded a planet with tens of thousands of autonomous intelligent, fighting robots and they did it as the Galaxies super power with the largest army and technological superiority.

Palpatine was a classic narcissistic con man out for power and definitely evil. He was clearly pulling strings and influencing the decisions first of the Republic then in full authoritarian mode as The Emperor. How is that an exaggeration?

I thought the claim was Palpatine's relationship to the Separatists was more akin to CIA-financed revolutions to advance American interests - i.e., Palpatine had no interest in the grievances of the Separatists than their utility to destabilize the Republic and create access to power. The Separatist grievances existed outside of Palpatine's influence, but he most certainly worked to amplify those grievances into a full-scale conflict for his own benefit.

Didn’t Palpatine create the fear to get the people to beg him to take full control with the belief that that was the only way to defeat the fear? And he took full control reluctantly(fake) and then started to change the systems and laws?

Thanks for displaying this! Star Wars is most interesting. Yet more than a couple casts and No force actually even being a portion of the discussed? Odd in deed. Where may it be? Are force fans forced in some manner to repulsion, attraction, and amnesia of this force?
