A blockchain node (or simply a node) is a node in a blockchain network that performs several functions: maintains a copy of the entire blockchain stored on the network, stores and maintains a complete copy of all blocks, transactions and smart contracts that were created on the network.
The essence of the work of nodes is to check and confirm new transactions added to the blockchain.
