In 1980, Hammett, along with Tom Hunting, Tim Agnello and Carlton Nelson, formed the band Exodus and were among the first to play thrash metal.
Metallica (since 1983).
In 1983, Kirk Hammett was noticed by the then young band Metallica, who offered him the position of lead guitarist, replacing Dave Mastain. Thus, since 1983 Hammett has been Metallica's lead guitarist.
The Wedding Band
In 2019, together with Robert Trujillo, Hammett founded the side project The Wedding Band after being invited to play at a wedding. 0 reply
