Modular Artist Spotlight #6

This week’s spotlight shines on Caterina Barbieri, a visionary composer and modular synth artist whose work explores the relationship between human perception and sound. Known for her hypnotic, minimalist compositions, Caterina uses modular synthesizers to craft intricate, evolving patterns that blur the line between the organic and the synthetic.

Her music is deeply emotional yet highly technical, striking a balance between mathematical precision and raw expressiveness. She had a classical training in music and I feel she could surpass the rules she learned to create something truly unique. 

She just came in Tokyo two months ago for the Mutek festival but I was not able to see her. Definitely going next time!
